It's the Eric Rosenblum birthday edition of the Coming Up Short podcast! Today, Jon Levine helps celebrate Eric's (21st? 37th? 49th? How old is that kid?) birthday along with our guest, Darius Culpepper.

Darius rolls in to the Chula Vista Studios Facebooking Live the whole time with his driver, Fasil Malik, and knocks out one heck (gotta use that word for Darius's sake) of an episode. In between Darius's five million shout-outs, we learn about how his comedy started, where it's been, and definitely where it's going.

It's an awesome episode and it's Eric's birthday, so you have to listen (and subscribe!).

Comedians mentioned in this episode: Will Watkins, Will Watkins, Will Watkins, Will Watkins, Will Watkins, Will Watkins, Will Watkins, Will Watkins, and Will Watkins.

It's Monday and that can only mean one thing: you're back at that miserable job you hate. Well that, and it's time for a brand-new episode of the Coming Up Short Podcast! This week Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine go it alone as a certain someone cancelled at the last minute. Want to know who? You'll have to listen.

Jon and Eric tackle a few big issues that plague comedians both here in South Florida and elsewhere. Issues like comedians doing similar jokes and how that can have an effect on what you're doing on stage. We also talk about girls showing up on Jon's doorstep, all of the upcoming comedy contests in South Florida like Florida's Funniest, and much more.

Comedians mentioned in this episode: Brian Coronado, Brian Corrian, Dan Long, Ron Beau, Leah Jay, Noam Manor, Lisa Carrao, Trey Maddox, Jordan Garnett, John Gregory, and Fasil Malik.

Comedians specifically not mentioned in this episode: Will Watkins.

It's the Masshole edition of the Coming Up Short podcast this week as Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine welcome into the studio the best known Boston comic in South Florida, Perry Sak.

This lively episode has the three talking about topics ranging from why Perry needed to create an alias on Facebook, how he went from hero to zero in his first and second sets, why it's never a good idea to have a naked cruise-ship guest in your closet, and much, much more.

Other comedians that get mentioned in this episode are: Will Watkins, RJ Walker, Artist Treece, Jordan Garnett, Dougie Almedia, Lenny Travis, Mike Panzeca, Flip Schultz, Carl Guerra, William Rock the House Lewis, Carl Rimi, Regina Casteneda, and Gordon Meyers.

We're going all Miami up in here for this week's episode of the Coming Up Short podcast. Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine welcome Miami's native comedian son David Martin to the show.

The three get right to it, immediately jumping on topics from David's first hosting gig at the Taurus Late Night Open Mic show on Thursday nights in Coconut Grove, to an excellent discussion about what it takes to be a good standup comedian. The three also touch on the pros and cons of taking a standup comedy class.

Mentioned in this episode: Dan Weiss, Brian Heffernan, Freddy Stebbins, & Will Watkins

We're marking a monumental occasion here on the Coming Up Short podcast as Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine welcome in longtime listener and supporter of the podcast Franco Harris to the Chula Vista Studios. Franco's desire to be on the show has been a long known, but due to a miscommunication, it hadn't happened until now.

The three, well four actually (Sarah, Franco's (much) better half joined us in studio), talk about lots of topics from how good the scene truly is down here in South Florida, why it's important to 'fake it till you make it', how it's possible that Dylan Starr is dating my ex-girlfriend, and how Jacky B's... ahem... pleasant personality is not a new phenomena.

Lots gets touched on and it's a great show. Listen and subscribe!

The Coming Up Short podcast has hit the three-quarters-of-a-century mark this week with its 75th episode! As a special treat to mark this occasion, Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine brought in a guest from over two hours away to appear on the show. We'd like to think it was this far distance that caused Phillip Isme to be late, but I think we all know the truth.

Not only did Phillip talk dynamically about his start and career in comedy, but also about what it's like to be a comedian in a place with few opportunities. He really opens up to Jon and Eric about his goals and fears of what might be in store for him in the future. We're also introduced to our guest's guest, as the lovely Ashely joined us for the show.

Listen, subscribe, and enjoy!

If someone would've told me that the next guest on the Coming Up Short podcast was going to be a former toothless and gender-ambiguous comedian who's life peaked in the fifth grade, I would have said they were lying. But, that's exactly what Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine got for this week's episode of Coming Up Short.

Jon and Eric welcome Regina Castaneda into the Chula Vista Studios and neither of them had any idea what they were in store for. The self-proclaimed croqueta connoisseur not only explains the difference between the different types of croqueta fillings, but also about her formative years playing the roles of men on stage, including the fake beards.

You wouldn't believe it unless you heard it. Listen and subscribe.

The Coming Up Short podcast is switching from short and fat (in my case) to tall and skinny for this, our Fourth of July episode. Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine welcome this week's guest Jesse Thompson to the Chula Vista Studios and, as it turns out, Jesse lives right around the block (literally).

Jesse, Eric, and Jon get right to it and start with a discussion about the recent show at the Inkwell Pub that Jon and Jesse were a part of. From that, the two jump into Jesse's dry-spell streaks, which he talks about on stage, and how legitimate they actually are.

Finally, the three wrap up the episode with talk of what's coming up next for both Jesse and the Coming Up Short crew.

The Coming Up Short podcast team hopes that everyone has a happy and safe Independence Day and asks you to click that subscribe link so you never miss an episode!

Like two jilted lovers, Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine rant and rave on this week's edition of the Coming Up Short podcast. The scheduled guest cancelled on the show just two hours before we were set to record and that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Cancellations have happened to Coming Up Short before but, thankfully, not too often. However, it was today's cancellation which seemed like a good opportunity for Jon and Eric to discuss not only how important it is to keep your commitments from a professional standpoint, but how not doing so can negatively impact your comedy career in a serious way.

The two discuss the circumstances under which they each received their first booked gigs and, spoiler alert, it wasn't by not working hard.

Listen to this great episode and subscribe so that you don't miss any in the future.

We have a two-fer episode of the Coming Up Short podcast this week, meaning you're getting two guests for the price of one. And, because this podcast is free, it's an even better deal!

Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine welcome Stacey Steele and Carl Rimi to the show and boy does the 30 minutes go by quick! Not only are these two accomplished comedians who tour different comedy clubs around the country, but they're both working actors who have appeared in many short films, TV shows and more.

There's even a secret guest in the Chula Vista Studios this week, but she's more like a silent partner. It's a fun show all around so check it out!
